My Story
I support Maine local live music. Anybody can play the radio, a disc or stream but watching music played live is spontaneous and real. You never know what's going to happen. Sometimes things don't go as planned. Thats life, Thats human! In this age of AI (Artificial Intelligence), we need more live human experiences, not less. I've been playing music for over 30 years. I started playing drums and singing with my older brother's when I was ten years old. We played for my parent's parties in our basement. Later I played drums in many bands in VT traveling all over New England. I started dabbling with guitar and Ukulele in High School. By the time I was in college I was playing guitar more seriously. The guitar was easier to carry around and became my instrument of choice. Once I graduated, I moved to Maine and played in a number of local bands. I played lead guitar and sang for a band called 'Gunner'. We recorded music at Tree Frog studio in Hollis Maine in the 90's. I was told that this studio used to be owned by Bill Chinnock who was a very well-established Jersey shore musician who moved to Maine later in his life. These days I sing, play acoustic & electric guitar, harmonica, foot percussion, and sometimes Ukulele. I use many gadgets like drum machines, Loopers, Harmonizors, Guitar effects etc. I've been called, 'The One-Man Band" BY some folks. Being in a band can be a tough situation. You need to depend on all the other members of the band, you don't make much money unless your famous as you must split 3, 4, 5 or more ways. Also, there will always be disagreements on what music to play, Band image, where to play, etc. In a One-Man-Band everyone is always on time, the rhythm is consistent, I steer my own ship and nobody gives me any lib! I still write my own music but also enjoy playing crowd pleasing cover songs in my own unique style. Sometimes I play them in A new arrangement and add my own backing track mixes of bass and/or drumS, rhythm looping & a harmony machine to give the music more depth to help get the crowd motivated. I like to rock out on occasion and mix it up so be prepared! I hope you can stop by soon and catch a gig!!!
Cheers
Mic
